Dr. Jose Portal is a Board Certified ophthalmologist specializing in double vision, eye muscle disorders and pediatric ophthalmology.  He received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Virginia.  He completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Florida.  Finally obtaining his fellowship on strabismus and pediatric ophthalmology at Childrens Hospital in Washington, D.C.  Dr. Jose Protal was in practice in Connecticut for 12 years prior to joining Hampton Roads Eye Associates and the Cullom Eye and Laser Center in the summer of 2001.
